The Princess and The Frog was an adorable movie. The art was gorgeous, the music fun, and the plot itself seemed somewhat random that was able to tie its self together towards the end. The manservant from Enchanted ended up in the movie. I enjoyed the retelling even if it skirted around the Cinderella character more than was necessary. A good movie not quite a classic.

So my sidekick was in town, which is always a treat, but we also managed to contact the other member of our old trifecta (who I will now refer to as "Mr. Cool"), and basically had the best graduation celebration ever. Highlights included:

- Sidekick handing me the phone to call Mr. Cool and after hanging up on him twice find out he's already in his car and almost where we are.

- Having fantastic food at the Brew Co and not having to pay for it (THANKS GUYS).

- "I don't get how the both of you guys aren't getting any." "Well you're a lesbian!" "What do you mean by that?" "It's all chick ALL THE TIME. If I were a chick I'd be a lesbian too!"

- Going back to my room to help me drink up some of the beer I have so I don't have to move it and sending ridiculous messages and texts to my girlfriend.

- "We should take over NASA and our motto will be, 'NASA: Grow Some Balls'."

- Getting into the build lab and showing off my plane. Which was met with much manly approval at the bits I made.

- Finding some stray Mechanical Engineering major and an Econ major and a couple History majors throwing paper planes off the third floor mezzanine of Aero Building and showing them how it's REALLY done.

- Also the funny places some of the planes got stuck. We didn't leave the ones that made it to the floor, though, because that's mean.

- Going to Wal-Mart because the Redbox at McDonald's didn't have District 9 and buying un-manly alcohol. (the Wal-Mart one didn't have it either, cause it's not released yet, geniuses. XD)

- Seeing Mr. Cool's house and jamming on his instruments. (I was drums, Mr. Cool was lead guitar, and Sidekick was bass. Sidekick and I later switched cause his fingers went numb and I actually was pretty good on bass. I guess having long fingers helps). "So much better than Rock Band."

- Conking out during Star Trek. Mostly because I had consumed quite a bit of booze. And thankfully not getting pranked on.

- Making fun of Sidekick for sleeping with his shoes on. "It's a habit I developed from hitch-hiking, you never know when you need to spring up and flee." (For those of you new folks, Sidekick spent an entire summer once hitch-hiking from Indiana to Texas)

In the end, we've decided we need to figure out a way to work for the same company, that NASA is still full of the douches we hated in college, and nuclear powered rockets are just damn cool. Oh and Sidekick's spy work is fun (as he literally does some of that stuff now). There's the possibility of going to a shuttle launch in May, which will probably be rockin'. 25th birthday present? Fuck yes.

Yes, I think 2010 will be full of travel. This is a goal.

I know this shouldn't amuse me as much as it did as it is fairly sad in one way.

Also, there are a lot of fantasy books that seem rather interesting now of days, of course, try to figure out if they're simple romance in a shiny wrapper is the trick and whay Amazon is for after all.  Why should having a cook looking female character on the cover equal to lots of sex inside...WHY!!! The boys fade to black traditionally, why can't the girls.  Some female readers merely want interesting setting, plot, and clever female characters not all the silly romance.

Another random note because on of the grimm fairy tales has a fairly awesome cover art.  Since the Frog Prince story is getting Disneyfide does that mean the princess will get a revival in Fables, she was one of my favorites back in the day as her story was all about personal honor so merely curious.

Uh, hi. I'm a newbie, although I've been reading FF7 fics for a few years now. I don't write much anymore and my art... aheh, less said the better. But I do read. A lot. So I can give good crit if asked for.

Right now though, I am DYING for good, long fic that I haven't read 100 times over. All the authors I stalk watch are busy with RL stuff and aren't posting at the moment; which is their right, of course, but... ;_;

Anyway, does anyone have a rec they'd like to share? An author that kicks ass or a story that they never get bored with? I'm completely open to a variety of pairings, OT3's OT4's or other combos.

I have a few recs of my own, but I don't know if posting anothers work (with all due credit to the creator of course) is kosher here. Thank you all ahead of time!

Armina Skitty

Why can't I visit anyplace without running into FFXIII spoilers?

~blinds self, grabs brain bleach~

Well, all the more reason to get back to work, but urgh. ORZ x1000

March can't come soon enough.

Fuck you.

Fuck all of you. Fuck you all. You are why we can't have nice things. You risk nothing. Oh, I know, it's safer that way, you never get let down, etcetera and ad nauseum, but you never hope, or give yourself over to believing. You sit there, content in your lazy chairs and armor of internet anonymity, smug in the belief that you yourself are sorcerer supreme and the divine judgment, narrating on your invisible soapboxes endless diatribes about "innovation" and stunning new examples of media while ignoring them completely when they come along and whining about buying sequel shit number fifteen billion.

Fuck you, emotionally parched softhearted saps who seek vindication in your media. The ugly part of the world won't go away because you don't look at it. Looking at that shit is important because it reminds you of who and what you are - a dumbfuck consumer, cuntnugget, part of the retarded expanded audience, draining away resources and wasting your lives every day you're alive. Knowing that makes you change for the better. Ignoring it and hiding it with fanciful feel-good piles of shit is a lie. Becoming an adrenaline junkie won't make him love you any more. Saving her life won't make her fall in love with you. People die and puppies get run over. The world is a shitty place and we have to live in it.

Fuck you, you heartless, arrogant snobs, puffed up with superiority and indifference, fuck you. Fuck you for rewarding years and years of blood, sweat, tears, and sleepless nights with a simple "meh". It takes years to build the ISS and only one dickwad to say it was worthless. It takes years to build the bridges our cars run on and all we do is complain about the traffic. It takes a decade to make a movie and all we do is complain about the effects.

Fuck you. Fuck you all.

I have survived 2/3 finals, actually feel like I was decently prepared for the Propulsion one (though, for the life of me I always fuck SOMETHING up). Am trying not to be antsy, as I still have the last final. It’s for Fatigue Structures, though, so I’m not as worried. That class lets you use three equation sheets to fill with whatever you desire, and I very much like this, as I really have a hard time with memorization (and fucking hate being tested on that basis). Like, they actually test on your ability to WORK the problems, not just to randomly memorize shit that you forget right after.

Yeah, I’m a little bitter about memorization based tests in engineering classes. Cause they make no damn sense.

Anyway, back to some positive thinking. Have decided to go to the graduation ceremony even if it turns out that I’m a class shy (I hope I’m not, I really want to start work in January and help them out with the engineering modules and stuff) because what the hell. I’ll basically be done no matter what happens. Still seeing Super Advisor about stuff to make sure I know what the deal is, though. RIGHT. Positive thinking. Shouldn’t work myself up.
